It's a business, not a charity
I don't understand why clients think they need to be coddled into paying. They always claim our services are vital yet half the time, we're the last ones to get paid.
I've been asking a client to pay an invoice from SEPTEMBER. We even gave a discount because she voiced concerns. I sent four follow up emails in the last few weeks, I am a small business owner and do not have the time to call each and every person who doesn't think paying their account is a necessity, and frankly I'd prefer a paper-trails.
It's business. Our terms and conditions have been the same forever - if your account is not settled by the last working day of the month, and you do not communicate any reason for late payment, you will be suspended come the 1st.
I don't have the money to fund non-payers every month and I don't understand why people can't just pay their accounts without us having to phone and beg them.
Rant over.
