When should baby start sleeping in the crib?

First time parent here- My daughter is about to turn 2 months & I’m wondering when is the best time to transition from bassinet to crib. I know doing it fairly early might make for an easier transition, but I just wasn’t sure how early to try this. She does already nap in the crib sometimes so she has some exposure to it. Thanks in advance!

It's recommended to keep babe in your room for at least 6 months but ideally it's a year. However, plenty move their babies sooner. The bassinet we used for my daughter said it was good up to 30 pounds but she outgrew it by like 4 months. So we started the transition to her room around then. There really isn't a right or wrong answer as to when to move baby. It depends on what works best for you and your family. Nothing prevents sids entirely and a recent study, that needs to be looked into further, says sids is due to a chemical (or lack thereof) in the brain. As long as babe is sleeping safely in a firm mattress, on their back, with nothing but a fitted sheet they should be okay regardless of where they sleep

We moved him around 6 months. He was sleeping through the night at that point, and moving him only helped everyone’s sleep. 
But we were doing at least one nap in the crib starting at a month or two! 
I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer. I know some people that moved their baby as newborns to their crib/room and that worked best for everyone. Other people still keep their toddlers in their room.

my son is 2 months and i’m hoping by the time he’s 3 months he will be transitioned to the crib. we just have to break him of swaddling (which we’re working on now) and being swung (his bassinet swings). it’s gonna be rough but i feel like the earlier the easier!

I moved all my kids into their own room & crib at 4-5months. I’m a really light sleeper & newborns are really noisy at night lol 😂 I like sleep. And i like time with my husband alone. 😊 We had a baby monitor & the room is like 4ft from ours so it wasn’t that far.

I moved my youngest to his own room & crib at 4 months. My others slept in my room til 6-9 months but only because there was no room to move them to earlier than that.
