Smoking ?

Question

When did you stop smoking weed ? Everyone been saying they going to call CPS if it’s in the child system. So when is the best time to stop so it’s not in neither of our system ? I’m currently 8 weeks as of today!  
I don’t need any Sally sues telling me it’s not safe to smoke and etc it’s 2023 everyone smokes! 😂 I Need legit advice. My mother has 6 kids and smoked with 4 of her pregnancies. But I know times changed so.

Usually you’re tested in the beginning of your pregnancy, I have always gotten drug screens done in the beginning of my pregnancies. Depending on where you live, and where you give birth, some hospitals do drug test babies via cord blood without even notifying parents. Depending on the result, they’ll either never mention it (if it’s negative) or if they find a positive result for anything, they will let you know after the test AND after they inform CPS since they’re mandated reporters.

Has anyone switched from smoking to other ways of ingesting weed? To be on the safe side, don't have any in your system past viability. Does your doctor do lung quality tests, where they test co2 levels? I'd stop smoking a week or so before those tests as if the levels are too high they can order drug tests

I smoked til I was 5 and half months with my son & 6 & half months with my daughter at the end of my pregnancy I got tested due to both my kids trying to come early (preterm labor 31 weeks ) and was negative (smoked flower / wax)

In my state they generally test you at the first appointment and they give you 3 tests to show a negative. If they find thc in the baby (doesn't happen if you quit in the first trimester) they do a home check after baby is born (had it happen to a person I know). I smoke regularly when I'm not pregnant or breastfeeding and quit when I find out I'm pregnant. My midwife does not test for thc at all but all OBGYNs do.

It depends on where you’re from and what hospital you’re giving birth in if they even test in the first place. But you’ll want to stop around 30min to be on the safest side. But I have known people who have smoked up to the 36wks with no issue. I personally wouldn’t push it because after 30wks you just don’t really know what could happen and if you happen to go into labor early or need to be induced

Are you smoking just weed or weed with tobacco? Because ALL research done on smoking tobacco during pregnancy shows that it's detrimental to the baby.
As for weed, I honestly have never smoked it during pregnancy so I can't comment that part

It’s definitely not safe during pregnancy. You should stop right away. Terrible to put a drug in your system for an unborn baby.

As soon as I tested positive I stopped and then I smoked once due to really bad anxiety when I was I think 14 weeks and never did it again. A friend of mine smoked daily because she had hg and it was the only way she could eat. She stopped at 30 weeks so there would be plenty of time for nothing to be in her system or in baby. Her baby is perfect and healthy. Don’t let people try to scare you or be rude
