Melanoma?!

So I've had this mole on my neck forever. it was just a flat brown one, like a beauty mark. for the past few months now I haven't been able to stop picking at it. All I do is pick at it and it causes it to peel and regrow and peel and stick out like a tag almost. as you can see from the photo below there's only a little brown left. I know it's cancerous if it changes shape and color on its own, but am I okay because I've been picking at it myself and it's just irritated? please help
