Periods after a miscarriage..

I had a miscarriage in may 2015 I was about 8-9 weeks along, but every since then my periods are back on a normal cycle but they are a lot heavier and cramps have become so much worse than usual. Before my miscarriage my cramps didn't bother me that bad meaning I only took tylenol or ibuprofen one day out of the whole week.. now it seems I have to take it everyday just to get through the week. Did this happen to anyone else or should I go see the doctor about it?
