Press on nails - question

So this is my first attempt at press in nails. I’m not loving them because they just feel flimsy. I did put some top coat on the back side to maybe try to make them stiffer. They are holding on so far but only time will tell. 
Those of you that use press ons, any tips for getting them to last longer and more durable?

Find a better glue and don’t get them wet for a few hours. I personally like press one instead of the glue. They last for 7 days but don’t go over that.

Buff your nails , go over them with acetone or alcohol to dry them out, apply glue to the inside of the press on nail, press firmly onto your nail bed while also lifting the tip for 20 seconds on each nail   I used to wear a lot of press ons. This way they’d last about a week or longer. ✨

In my experience you have to try out different styles .. for some reason they seem to make the glitter nails thicker & more durable. For me, the medium length nails seemed to last the longest. You can look up on YouTube how to get them to last longer! I’ve never been able to keep them longer than a week. The less you submerge your hands in water, the better. Make sure you get the glue on your fingernails as well as the fake nail & make sure to really get the edges. I had to use them for a while when I had a tight budget & I made it work but it was a pain lol, I always keep the glue close by in case one pops off
