2 year old nephew

I’ve been wondering if this is normal or not . Every time I leave to use the bathroom or go outside or close my room door my nephew starts to cry very sadly like his feelings are hurt bad or I’m abandoning him. He knocks on the room door to come in and play and he cry’s and gets sad if I don’t open . If he see me about to go to my room he hurry’s and follows me to get in the door before I close it . I wonder if this is normal or if he is traumatized about something
