In the event of parent’s death. What happens to your kids?

What would happen to your kids if both parents died? If there were no grandparents, no aunts, no uncles, no close family? What would you want for your children if this were the situation? 
Looking for advice, insight, maybe the answer. We just don’t know what we could have for our son in this situation.

A close friend. But for any of these you need legal documentation that says so.

This is why you need a legal will written so you would know what would happen to your children after you pass. If there is literally not a single family member or close friend you would have taken your children they would be put into the foster system. If you have no family a good friend is a great option to ask if they would agree to it and you could put them in your will to care for your children if they are fit to do so.

They go to their godparents, who we have a legal will written out stating this and of course their godparents have already agreed.

My partners and I have wills. We have designated family that consented to caring for our child in the event of our passing. If we all three died they would go to close family that live down the street. It is hard to think about but it’s necessary to think about.

I don't know where they would go, but I assume any of our close family would be an option to them. I would be okay with any close family member taking care of them really. Depending on the age I know in my country kids will be heard and asked for their wish but it will only be granted if the person they wish for wants to and other close family can back up its a safe place to go.
I know this because I lost my mom and my family all said they could take me, bit if I wanted to move home to my step dad they would all be okay with it. And I was old enough to express not wanting to move home to my bio dad who I don't really know other than by name.

Well first off you should both have a hefty life insurance policy to cover a child's expenses through age 18. I think this is what godparents are for but I also think it all needs to be legally drawn up. They would probably go to foster care but that is just a guess

I am close with my family I know either my mom and my sisters would take my kids, I do plan to get this in legal writing just in case. But havent don't it yet. Me and my husband also have life insurance through our works. If we both died my child would get somewhere close to 300k lol. We pulled out almost the max because it's not expensive
