Am I supposed to breastfeed off both breasts each feeding for my 3 day old or just one boob?

Question

Milk supply is not a problem I can get 4+ oz per breast after baby eats. Someone just told me I needed to do both each time not just one. No idea what I'm doing here 😬

If baby will take it, yes you should. It just keeps your supply up, but if baby won't take it, don't worry. Your supply should be exactly what baby wants, so if baby just wants one breast per feeding, that's okay.

Do not pump after nursing. Doing so in the first 6 weeks will have you regulating with a massive oversupply. 
You don’t have to use both breast each feeding. You should offer the other side once babe pops off the first, but if they don’t want it, that’s fine. It’s called blocked feeding.
I highly highly recommend you take a breastfeeding course. There is so much to know.

Here is what my amazing lactation consultant said. Feed off one boob for the appetizer then burp baby then feed baby off the other boob for the entree and burp baby again. Just remember to alternate which boob you start with so they both get the same amount of feeding time in the end.

I had a lot of milk so my children were always happy with one side. I Just offered the other side at the next feed. Breastfed both my babies for a year each.

My baby prefers the right side since birth. If I give him the left he will completely destroy it so I will just put a haakaa on that side and still get 4oz on just let down. But you can do both so baby helps with them being less full.

I do one breast until baby pulls off. Burp. Offer the other. Next feeding I will start with the one I offered last. It's important baby get both foremilk and hindmilk.
