What is considered ovualtion day?

I’m very new to opks so I’m looking for some clarity.  Do you start counting your dpo after your positive or do you count the the positive opk as ovulation day.  I read the instructions and it said you can O 12-36 hours after a positive, so when do you start counting how many dpo you are?

So for ovulation it’s generally the day after first positive opk, but it can be two days after. Also opks don’t guarantee you’ll ovulate that surge so it’s hard to say for sure without tracking your basal body temp. But let’s say you ovulate the day after your first positive opk, then 1 dpo would be one day after ovulation or two days after first positive opk (roughly)
