When is okay to date again?

Question

Assuming you were up front about things with your potential date, when would it be okay to start dating again?
Personally im not looking for a serious date and I dont even know about sex... but I had a "sex" dream (can you call it a sex dream if you woke up before you actually had sex? Thanks a lot bladder) And its been making me want to get out there again. I'm just curious about peoples opinions since I had one opinion before divorce, and a different one now that I'm been through it.
OPTION 1: after leaving him (and clear you were probably divorcing him)
OPTION 2: after telling him you've 100% decided on divorce
OPTION 3: after you've officially filed for divorce
OPTION 4: after the divorce is finalized

Is option 2 still living together though? 
Because lots of people have told their partners they want a divorce but don’t ever move out or actually go through with it 
I say option 3 and on the condition that you no longer live together as well. 
Especially if kids are involved. I think it’s important to be separated fully before going down that path.

I am not divorced but I don’t think there’s a right answer on this, everyone is different. However, I think divorce is usually stressful, emotional, and can be traumatic. So I’d personally probably avoid dating until some time after to process and heal.

Depends on how, if at all, it will impact your divorce proceedings.  If you're the same person who was debating divorce vs annulment will dating give him the opportunity to say you were unfaithful?  Will it impact your division of assets?

My dad was dating and met his now 6 year girlfriend while the divorce was filed and not finalized. Personally that was hard to deal with as a 16 year old and with siblings 12-13/19. It caused confusion and secrecy. I think it’s less important how soon dating happens when there’s either no kids or very young kids

I think it actually depends on how long youve been separated. It would be better to date after being separated for years but not officially divorced, than to date after a divorce that just recently happened with no additional separation.

After filing for divorce, I have been divorced once and we actually remarried 8 yrs later, and now have 2 girls together. The idea of divorce can be scary but sometimes you need to be placed in a situation to understand how you will react. Anyone can SAY they want a divorce but sometime that can be desperation to stay in disguise. The ACTION of filing makes the possibility more real and forcing both parties to ask themselves if this is what they want. If you feel relieved after filing that is a good indicator that you are on the right path. If you feel sad/hurt/angry or whatever comes to mind other than relief/excitement/contentment than you need to really ask yourself if this is what you want. To answer the question in regards to your situation. Ask yourself when do YOU feel ready to make that step confidently?
