My boyfriend has HUGE knot in his back and idk how to help

I rubbed his back and he said “OW! What was that! Lift my shirt up and look!”

I lift his shirt and it’s this massive knot directly ontop of his spine and it hurts too bad for me to rub it out.

We made the TERRIBLE decision to use my vibrator bc for some reason he thought it would feel better than me massaging his back.

He literally flew across the room and is in so much pain he can barely move now bc of the vibrator 🥴 poor guy.

What can he do to relax the muscles?
