How do you all prepare for Santa? first time mom

I just want to make it special for my little girl

My parents used to leave a glass of whiskey out for Santa. (Now I realise it’s my dad who likes single malt lol) and a biscuit for the deer. 
I didn’t see a single present until Christmas morning and I was so so amazed at the magic. Wondering how Father Christmas got all the presents down the chimney. I was so excited on Christmas Day, the tree would already be lite when I come down the stairs etc 
My sister leaves her gifts under the tree before Christmas and I can tell you there was a hella lot more excitement in our family home on Christmas morning than her house.

my family used to go out, my parents still do and me and my siblings are 17-24😂 we tracked santa the night before, left out cookies and carrots and milk, reindeer food in the front yard, elf on the shelf, read a Christmas book, and opened one gift which was usually a game, then we’d go to bed and “Santa” would come eat the cookies, lay out the gifts from Santa and move the Elf. my parents made Christmas so magical and I plan on doing the same for my kids, my oldest is 9 months but we still made cookies, gingerbread houses and sat up a few things from Santa! We’re planning to go see Christmas lights tomorrow night also:)
