Placenta abruption???

I don't know what to expect even though the doctors have been very informative. I'm currently 31 weeks and I have known ever since I was around 21/22 weeks that I've had a partial abruption. Strange thing is I haven't had any really bad pains or bleeding. I know that things can change drastically at any given moment and take a turn for the worst. However I've prayed on it and left it in God's hands!!! He hasn't failed me this far 😊 So  anyway they have me come in weekly and do US and NST. I'm pushing for a vaginal birth being as I've never had a c-section. But I'm wondering how this will go? Will I be able to be active during my labor? Can I get an epidural will it be safe/ allowable considering my condition?

After working in labor and delivery and everything I have seen,  I would go for the c-section if it was me. This is one of the very few times I would choose a c/s over a vaginal delivery because attempting to labor with an abruption can turn into an emergency very quickly. I would much rather have a planned c-section than an emergent one. In scheduled c-sections, you get to just have spinal anesthesia so you are awake to see your baby, in most emergencies there isn't time for a spinal so you have to undergo general anesthesia which carries it's own risks and doesn't allow you to be awake for your baby's birth. If you decide to labor and already have an epidural and need a csection, they may be able to use it and avoid putting you to sleep, but it depends on how well the epidural is working. Best of luck!

I had a huge tear right next to the placenta. Originally the doctors thought it included a part of the placenta but either God healed me or they were wrong. I was told I can deliver vaginally but it all depends on the day of delivery. You can tear again during delivery and cut off babies oxygen. I absolutely do not want a c section but am actually considering it because it's so quick and stress free compared to waiting for natural delivery and chancing a bleed where babies life and your life is at risk. The bleeding from a tear is no joke. I lost a lot of blood last time.

I had a placental abruption at 40 weeks with my now 5 year old daughter my water broke and then right after i started hemorrhage really bad her heart beat dropped and I was rushed to OR but they got her out in time got to the hospital at 6 had her at 6:31 so it was so fast and c section is not that bad I promise... I'm getting ready to have another c section with this pregnancy

It sounds scarier than what it is I was always scared to death of one but everything went great it's just important to get up and walk as soon as possible.. I hope you get what you want and pray the baby will be ok through all this it's scary but you can do this :)
