So I recently reconnected with a friend from high school. We always flirted but we were just going in very different directions. I was going to college in a small town and he was in the army and was going overseas. It's been almost 10 years he lives far but his family still lives in the same states but like 5 hours from me. They were going to be spending Christmas in another town about 1.5 hours from me and he wanted to drive over to hang out. We had agreed. Fast forward to the day he was supposed to drive to meet me (Thursday) we had horrible weather, snow and freezing rain. The passes were open when we were having the conversation (later ended up being closed (Friday - Tuesday). He's low-key upset that i had told him not to come. But it was only for dinner - he was hoping for more. But then he would have been stuck paying a hotel for 3 days and missed the holidays with his family.
