How do you deal with wanting more kids when your partner doesn't?

Question

I always wanted another sibling growing up, and my mom regrets not having another baby after my sister.
How did you deal with your partner wanting more kids than you, or telling you that what you have is enough when you want more?
Update: hypothetical on my part. I'm just curious, not actually asking because my husband wants more children than me or vice versa.

Well, first of we discussed it before starting to have kids. His opinion never changed he said he might wanted a second, but he wasn't sure. It might be too much for him and for us as a couple. I have a half brother but basically grew up a single child. I accepted his wish before we bought a home and started a family.
Did your husband change his mind? Or did you never discuss it before? What makes him say he doesn't want another?
All of that can be interesting to discuss, but in the end it comes down to - do you wanna have this current family with your husband or do you wanna split up if he is locked on not having more so you can find a new partner and have more kids?

It’s a hard one. Everyone is saying “you discuss that before you have kids” sure, but pregnancy, birth, and postpartum has changed my mind about how many kids I wanted. I use to want like 4 and now I think I’d be fine with my one because ppd was awful. Men are allowed to change their minds too.

You don't 🤷‍♀️ That should have been discussed early on in the relationship. It's a major part of the vetting/getting to know process. If he doesn't want anymore kids, then you need tonrespect that and not try to force it onto him. If you want more kids and you are not willing to settle for just the one, then you have a very important decision to make: either stay and just have the little family you do have or leave and find someone with the same family vision that you do.
