Can you book for 40 weeks?

I’m going to have my third c section and I’m wondering if I can book for my due date instead of 39 weeks. Is it a bad idea? Has anyone here done that?

As everyone else has said, they prefer closer to 39 weeks to reduce risk of going into labor. BUT with both of my kiddos, I was given the option of anywhere between 39-40, so you could ask! My first was scheduled at 39+2 (breech). My second was scheduled for 39+4, but ended up being a VBAC instead.

If your set on having a C-section they usually do 39week to lower the chance of you going into labor beforehand. Because then it becomes an emergent situation. You can definitely ask to do it at 40 weeks though.

The only way they may agree is if youre eligible for a vbac and open to it. If theres a medical necessity to the c section, they dont want to risk you going into labor.
