Is it harmful in anyway to get quotes for car insurance?

Dumb question, but I’m just making sure it doesn’t hurt my credit score or something. Lol. I don’t know. Is there a website to get multiple quotes at a time? Or do I just have to go on each website?

Mine did not. I did extensive research so I could get the lowest possible monthly price for what I was looking for. I ended up going with Metlife which another company called Farmers bought out not long after. They are a good fit so far and I pay around $88 monthly for full coverage. That all varies though and depends on your situation, type of car, and what you're looking for.
BUT BE AWARE - once you start filling out more and more quotes, expect to find yourself getting a whole bunch of junk and spam emails, texts, calls, mail, ect. They literally don't stop and once your information gets put into those data bases it opens a window for other companies to get it and send you their stuff too. I did mine almost 2 years ago and Im still constantly getting at least 5+ messages every day from different companies about car insurance quotes. You'll even probably find some that try to get you to buy other types of insurance too like house/mortgage stuff. I don't open any of it and just delete and block as much as I can. With all that said though don't let it scare you away from looking for the best price because doing your research is always a good thing and will benefit you in the long run.

I used the Jerry app through credit karma and no it didn’t affect my credit for quotes. I chose my coverage and was shown the best quotes. I chose and they did all the work for me basically. Super easy and no complaints

You have to give consent for a company to make a credit inquiry and you'd have to submit information like your social security number. That doesn't happen with insurance quotes.

If you find a broker that works with multiple insurances they do it at once. I use AAA for example and they broker out through like 4 or 5 other companies so when Inget quotes it is for what company is cheapest. Currently we are with travelers after switching from AAA like 18 months ago. It should hurt your credit unless they are running credit checks. If anything asks for you to run your credit it could ding it but just general quotes shouldn't. I honestly find calling is a better way because they sometimes have discounts that aren't advertised online but an agent will know. We get a discount with our insurance because I am a stay at hone mom amd don't drive very far so being in a low risk area for crashes in general with very low mileage it took like $15 a month off. Our agent told us that but we wouldn't have known online. Progressive will look at several companies for prices and as does AAA. I used to be on USAA since my dad was military but we are actually cheaper now with better coverage so we switched.
