How Did You Know You Miscarried?

Hello, ladies.

I recently experienced weird spotting in the middle of my cycle (for 6 days) without a positive LH test, bad mid-back pain, mild cramping and two occasions over two days where I passed a white, fluffy cotton ball-like discharge into the toilet. All infection was ruled out. My doctor suspected an ectopic pregnancy or at least wanted to rule it out. I had a pelvic, abdominal, and trans-vaginal ultrasound and it came back clear of any type of current pregnancy.

I ovulated last cycle mid-December and bled for 4 days starting Christmas Day. I know if the baby is lost really early (even without implanting anywhere) this can make it so a woman just thinks she’s getting her period when she’s in fact miscarrying. The timeline I was last intimate before this episode lines up with a potential early miscarriage.

I’m driving myself a bit crazy trying to figure this out. You see, the sanctity of life is so precious to me in my life and my faith, for peace of mind I need to know if I had a child and lost that child. My question to you on this forum who have experienced miscarriage before, has anyone ever bled like a normal period, had it stop, didn’t ovulate when you usually do nor when the app predicted, had abnormal-for-you spotting mid-cycle, and passed any discharge like that which I have described? I know it’s a long shot. Please, help. 😭 I don’t have abnormal TSH levels that mean thyroid disease, I don’t have endometriosis, and I don’t have PCOS. I did only start cycles again in November since I’ve been nursing and it suppressed ovulation for me naturally for 18 months.

Miscarriage related or not: have any of you experienced this type of discharge?
