Live in Norway, we have 49 or 59 weeks paid maternity leave. 100% of your paycheck paid if you chose 49 weeks, 80% if you chose 59 weeks. Tha also legally have to hold your position for 3 years if you chose to take longer unpaid leave. 
You also have the right for a spot at a daycare/kindergarten for your kid in August the year they are 1 year old. So if you are born in January your kids typically starts when they are 8 months old, if born later in the year they typically starts earlier.

I’m in the US 
Maternity leave was allowed up to 12 weeks ..but unpaid and all my benefits were on hold during my leave. I took nearly 6 weeks with my first and only 4.5 weeks with my 2nd . absolutely wish we had more time .

12 weeks unpaid but I paid for short term disability so I received 60% of my paycheck for 8 weeks. 
It was long enough for me. I hate not working 😅 and I got to bring my babe to the childcare at my school, so I was able to breastfeed and visit on my down time- which was a game changer
