I don’t know what to do..

I’ve never been the type to want to put someone on child support, I try to make things work between us and be civil. But I’m so torn on what should be done and what shouldn’t be done.

If you know me by my posts, then you’d know I recently left an abusive relationship of almost 2 years. I have an almost 5 month old daughter with this man. He was convicted of Domestic Violence and did 6 years in the penitentiary for strangling his other baby mama when she was 3 months pregnant with their son. She has a no contact order and he’s on child support to provide. He hasn’t seen his son and hasn’t genuinely tried to since I’ve been around (1.5years).. Him and his mom say she randomly stopped bringing their son around for whatever reason.

Anyways.. I live 1.5-2.5 hours away from him now, and I asked him if he could help contribute with diapers, he chunked me $30 after I had to go back and forth with him on it, he claims I should be able to cover diapers and such as I’m living with my mom at the moment and not paying bills, however I’m saving and spending money on what is needed.

I asked him if he planned on coming to see his daughter and he said he couldn’t because his registration is expired and he has a suspended license and his brakes need fixing.

He gambles for a living (sports betting- sometimes he’d win 200-2000$ a day, sometimes he will lose.. So he’d be half ass paying child support)

Now my question is, do I put him on child support or not?
