First time Sex really hurts

Hey all!

So recently I (22) have *tried* to have sex with my boyfriend a few times and every time we go to do it, it hurts so badly like he can’t even get it in because I squirm in pain. I know sex is supposed to be painful the first few times but I didn’t think like this! We use lube to try and help but idk if we are doing it wrong 🤦🏼‍♀️, it’s not rocket science but I just don’t know if the pain im having when he tries to put it in is normal or it’s not going in the right way 😂.

He says I need to break the hymen but idk how as all of this is a first for me! His really caring and stops straight away if I can’t handle it.

Is this normal? Is there something I can do to stop it from hurting this much, or do I just close my eyes and deal with the pain of it being my first time?
