Anyone have pcos?

Question

Been trying to conceive for 18 months still not happening, recently both ovaries feel some pain and went to obgyn, did the ultrasound they say on my right ovary have polycystic ovary Syndrome (pcos) shock don't know what to do! Could it be possible to get pregnant if my left side ovary are ok but it seems I m not ovulate well due to pcos. Any advice?

Sorry you're having so much trouble, but I hope you don't mind me asking about the symptoms you have with PCOS. My drs have talked about me prob having PCOS a few times but said they'd only test if I kept having trouble conceiving. So I'm wondering if you ladies have regular cycles with PCOS - I do but I have a few other symptoms and that's the main reason drs haven't tested me for it. I'm just curious if it's possible to have PCOS & regular 27-32 day cycles (use to be 28 exactly but not now).

I have tried on and off over the years to lose weight without any luck. And despite being on a diet that's mainly fruit & veg for the past 5 months and going to the gym for 2 months I've seen no change in my weight. So I threw out my scales to stop me getting discouraged and I'll keep eating healthy and going to the gym even if it doesn't impact my weight. But this is an area I need to keep working on.

I am 30 and got diagnosed with PCOS at 18 after irregular periods (like none for 7 months, etc) weight gain, dizzy spells and migraines. I had both the ultrasound and hormone tests done for diagnosis.

​Yes PCOS can make it hard to conceive as you don't ovulate often or with any regularity so it can be hard to know when try for a bub. You also need to keep an eye on your diet as PCOS can make you insulin resistant and lead to diabetes later in life.

The only thing you need to remember is that you can't diagnose pcos with ultrasound alone! You ovaries can look polycystic but you may not have the syndrome! 
​Ask your doctor for a blood test to
Confirm whether or not you have pcos :)
​I have over 30 follicles (cysts) in each ovary, still ovulating....... 
​Also remember that some if those cysts are eggs waiting to develop enough to ovulate!

Yes it's possible. There are degrees of it, depending on the levels of hormones, and there is plenty you can do to improve your situation ( e.g. Lose weight if needed, exercise more, take metformin). When I was diagnosed 13 years ago I remember the endocrinologist saying that the presence alone of multiple cysts was not a diagnostic tool for pcos, you have to have hormone levels checked. Some people have many cysts which are caused by another reason. I would ask your dr for more bloodwork and maybe a glucose tolerance test?

My cycles vary. I may go a couple of months w a 28 day cycle. Then I may go 35-40. Then I may spot a whole month without a period. Then I may have a 20 day period. The main reason the drs say I have pcos is because of the cysts on my ovaries. They did a vaginal ultrasound and I had perfect "pearls" which are cysts, on the outsides of my ovaries. I also have acne, not to mention going on 2 years ttc.

I've been ttc for about 20 months. I was diagnosed w pcos march of last year :( I did one round of clomid in June and it didn't work. I've just put off any dr apts and such to give me time to relax and stop stressing so much. I just got an amazing job with amazing insurance so this is my year I hope!!! Will be going back to the dr in the next few months. I've read Lots of success stories about women who have conceived w pcos, it gives me hope!!
