Gender through blood?? Anyone?

Is it true you can discover the gender of your baby through a sample of blood? I'm having a blood test next week (15 weeks) and would live to be able to find out from the nurse if it's true ? any experiences?

I just had this done last week, but not specifically to find out the gender, just a happy bi-product of one of the abnormalities they check for. It's fairly expensive to have DNA testing though, mine before insurance was about $800, (I'm still not sure how much I'll be charged of that), and had to have a reason aka referral from my midwife before insurance would cover it. I'm 35, because of this, I'm at higher risk for abnormalities, so was able to have it done. It takes about 2 weeks for the results to come back. I did this in place of the Sequencial screening, since it's more accurate. Here's a photo of my kit the phlebotomist used. ​

I just had the Harmony blood test done at 12 weeks. I'm 35, so insurance pays for it because it's really indicated more to detect genetic abnormalities like Down's syndrome, etc. However it also determines gender with 99% accuracy! 9 business days later, I got the results and I'm so happy to say that our baby is healthy and it's a GIRL!

We did it, no question of coverage or special referrals provided. :). It's a boy and now I can skip the much less reliable triple or quad screens.

My nurse made me feel better today. She said with her first she found out super early what she was having....but it made her pregnancy go by sooooo slow. Second time she waited til 20 weeks and that one went by much quicker...so that's how I'm gonna think of it!

Yes, I researched this online a while ago and it's said that you can know your baby's gender at 7 weeks with that blood test done. I'm currently 15 weeks and I'm SO eager to know the gender. I wanna do a blood test, but I don't have the money if my insurance doesn't cover it :(

It has to be the maternT or panaroma test I believe. Most insurances don't cover it unless you are high risk or over 35 I believe
