Kids from another marriage

Who here has married a man that has children from a previous relationship/marriage, and how do you manage them when they want to constantly be clung to your husband? My husband has a 5 1/2 year old daughter from a previous marriage and every other weekend we have her she constantly cries out for daddy and has to know where he is every second of the day. It annoys us both and he tries to tell her about personal space but she's just too young to understand. Anyone else in a situation like this?
