New to birth control and it's messing with my cycle!

I am 22 years old and just recently lost my virginity. I started birth control this month as well, however my period started three weeks early (I was maybe one or two pills into the third little group) and shouldn't have started until the first week in September or this coming week. Should I be alarmed. Nearly two weeks straight of a period doesn't seem normal. Help!?
