Fertile or ovulation?

Question

So far I've read completely different things. Some websites are saying that it's actually better to BD two to three days before ovulation so the sperm can have matured enough to penetrate the egg. Others say the day of ovulation? What are your thoughts? Any body can testify?

With my first son, my husband and I TTC for almost a year with no luck, bd during my fertile time, but not necessarily on the day of ovulation.  No baby.  Then I finally broke down and bought an ovulation test, and when the little smiley face appeared, that's when we bd'd.  We got pregnant the first time that way!  Now we're temping and bd when my temperature spikes a little.  Anyhow, good luck!
