Calling all Latinas!!
Ok, so I'm Puerto Rican, but since I was adopted, I wasn't raised in that culture. I learned Spanish (my accent is decent, but you can tell it's forced) and tried to pick up whatever I could, but it's not much.
My husband, however, is Mexican born and raised in Texas. His family is a very traditional Latin family. I love them all, and they've been nothing but kind to me. I just feel like an outsider, because while I look the part of a Latina, I'm very much a white girl.
What can I do to close that gap a bit?
Any hints?
