What would you do if your SO was incarcerated for a few years??

I don't know what to do he's been away for almost 2 years I'm trying my best to keep it together but this situation is becoming quite lonely what would you do... Answers please.. How do I keep us both satisfied until he returns this is stressing me out.

My ex was arrested and I knew he was going to be sent to prison and we talked and I wanted to wait it out for him because I loved him, but after over a year into his 3 plus 12 year sentence I realized that I was letting him control my life and my happiness by waiting it our for him for so long. When they get out they are changed into a different person and you will have changed also, if he really loves you (and vis versa) he would tell you he doesn't want you to wait on him for so long and he would let you go to let you be happy...

I've been faced with this situation thank god it didn't actually happen but I had to really ask myself was I willing to put my life on hold and if I did when he gets out what type of life would I have because its not easy for a man to get a job or so much else once he gets out of prison also he's clinging to you now because he needs the support but thing change when he gets out I've seen it happen. My SO has been incarcerated since may 27th-- he should be out by January. IT SUCKS! I know if he had a longer sentence I wouldn't be able to "hold him down" I have been with him for 4 1/2 years. I miss him so much.

My exhusband of 8 years spent as much, if not more time in jail than he did out of trouble, with dui's and other crap. I finally let him go about 3 years ago and I've never been happier

I had an ex of 8 years who repeatedly got arrested on drug charges. One time after spending 3 hours at central booking trying to bail him out only to have to go all the way to the jail, to spend another 4 hours there in December, I told him if he went away, I was out. I had had enough of trying to make any future with him after that.
