Army wives??

Question

I used to love the show Army Wives. Any ladies out there who live on a base with your SO?? Is it the same? I'm just wondering if it was portrayed accurately. After watching the show I wanted my hubby to join the army just so my life could be like the ladies on the show. Lol, is that weird??

Military wife for over two years. Its almost like not having a husband so if in the show their husbands are never around then guess their could be some similarities. Also in the last 6 months 3 of our married military friends are getting divorced because their wives cheated, used up their money, and got pregnant by another man. So you tell me.

Lol!!  Parts of the show are accurate IMO, but it makes it look a lot more glamorous than it really is haha ;)

​I live on post with my husband, help out with the FRG, have seen my fair share of drama, have gone through long trainings and deployments alone... It honestly is hard sometimes, but I love my life.  I'm so proud of everything my husband has accomplished.  
​The show is pretty good at showing things like how sometimes it's hard to integrate back into a family after deployments, how enlisted make hardly any money LOL, it portrays the different types of army wives you will find (normal ones, ones who feel entitled, ones who complain about everything, overachievers, etc haha), how sad but exciting it is to pcs, etc etc

​But as far as facts and such about the Army; it's not accurate at all. Half the time the uniforms aren't even set up correctly lol.

​That being said, I love the show. I'm sad it's over :(

Love the show, but definitely not the same. I wish my life could be like the show in some ways. Yes I do have a few close friends here on post, but it's not anything like the show. Been at Knox for almost 4 years now & seen a lot of drama. I keep to myself & a few wives from my husband's company. Our kids play together & we are there for each other throughout deployments & trainings. Being away from family is super tough, but we are here for each other & it helps. We see famiky at least once a year, sometimes twice a year. I don't get to see my nephews very often & my family rarely sees my son :( My husband does what he does for our family & I'm proud of him for all the sacrifices he makes. We stand by each other's sides & are here for one another. The exciting thing is being able to have some adventures & see new places. Not sure where the next place will be, but we are looking forward to it. ?

I am in the army myself and my husband is a student working up to being an officer in the army later on so I guess we have more of a Rowland/Joan situation going on lol. But when you were watching did you forget about all the parts where they are complaining about quality of life, their husbands being gone, and constant worry about their safety while deployed overseas? Sure there is lots of good about being in the military but there is equal amounts of turmoil and difficulty. If you have a good setup outside of the army I suggest keeping it!

I'll be an Army Wife December ...I'll be able to share my experience but so far from my friends & military spouses there's a huge difference from what they say..lol..idk..but again soon I will know?
