Dental work, safe?!..

Ok so I never thought about whether it would be safe or not to get dental work done! I'm supposed to be getting a filling in the morning, just wondering if anyone else has had anything done?.. 
I'm 26 weeks and 3 days x

I'm a dentist and pregnant. Lidocaine with epi with a pregnancy safe drug. Nitrous would be contraindicated. If you are very cautious, I would avoid Mercury silver fillings and formocreasol use in root canals. Dental work is much safer than harboring an infection.

Always check with your OB if your hygienist or dentist doesn't offer to call for you. Mainly we check toile sure you are not a high risk pregnancy. They should give the ok if you are not high risk and recommend that we don't use epinephrine or nitrous oxide(laughing gas). Once you reach the second trimester, X-rays with a lead apron and any dental work is acceptable.

Just make sure they carbocaine or another local anesthetic without epinephrine
