What do you take for anxiety?

I've had really bad attacks lately and I believe it's due to my SO away at work a lot. Sometimes we don't see each other for months. I have been on ambien for sleep and even that wakes me up now. Just having a really hard time.. Any advice is appreciated

I was diagnosed in college with severe panic disorder. Terrible symptoms that landed me in the ER on several occasions bc I was convinced I was dying. Tried medication but ultimately spoke with my psychiatrist and decided together that the only way I'd ever be happy and able to manage my panic would be to give myself the tools to talk myself out of an attack. Granted the first couple of months I was prescribed Xanax and another medication Called lorazepam (fast acting pill that dissolves under your tongue). But I'm telling you if you truly want a long term fix without medication find a good psychiatrist who will do behavioral therapy with you. Just my two cents ?

Celexa has worked really well for my panic attacks. If they are justbevery once in awhile and you don't want to be on daily medication, Ativan can help but it's not good to take when pregnant. You should talk to you doctor!

If you are trying to conceive, therapy might be your best option! It has no side effects and gives you skills for life! :)

I take 20mg of prozac for anxiety and depression, with any medicine your body eventually gets used to the dose so I fluctuate back and forth between 20 and 30mg

My naturopath recommended Bach flower. It's drops that u put under ur tongue..It's safe while pregnant too. I also agree with the behavior therapy for coping long term. I used the Bach flower to help with anxiety the night before my surgery and it was amazing, slept like a baby!

I've taken all of those meds and do not like them. I haven't tried Ativan yet though.

I can't take anything because of pregnancy and breastfeeding. But it's sometimes dibilitating. Anxiety runs my life.

I used to take Prozac.  I loved it!   Have to get prescription by ur doc.  They should start u out low to get your body used to it.
