When you begin a relationship, how long should you wait before sex?

Until you get to know the person completely and you feel 100% comfortable with them and you both have vowed to spend your lives together.  Don't give yourself to someone who will just throw it away later, had to learn that the hard way

That's a personal choice. It's different for every person and every relationship. I dated someone for a year, we never had sex. I dated someone for 3 months before sex. I tend to go slow, and that's just what I'm comfortable with. It's also been a good way to sort out the "he just wants to get in your pants" types from the legitimate boyfriend-material types.

My fiancé and I were together 2 weeks before we found it okay to have sex, but we were best friends before we got together..so we knew when it was okay :)

In my personal opinion there is no such thing as an acceptable time limit for which two people need to wait to have consensual sex. Sex is viewed differently from culture to culture but at a very basic level it is very human, deep down it is kind of a basic need, it promotes well being and relieves stress. I personally need a deeper connection to be comfortable enough to expose myself like that and therefore wait until I feel very emotionally connected to the person however I don't think less of anyone who doesn't do just that. Nor do I think less of (or more highly of) people who wait until marriage.

In my opinion, when you get married. I wish I would have waited so that my fiance was my first. If not, at least until you know eachother very well and have delt with each other sick, upset, bad days, good days, etc.

It is entirely circumstantial. Kind of depends on if it's your first time or not but my advice wait until you know the feelings on both ends are real and sincere. You should feel comfortable with and trust the guy. But that's just my opinion! I mean some peoples relationships start with sex and turn into something, other people wait until marriage. It completely depends on you, what you believe and what you feel comfortable with.
