When to first go to Obgyn?

I'm 4 weeks. I have an appointment 2 weeks from now...so I'll be 6-7 weeks. Is this a good timeframe for first appt? Will this appointment be able to tell me if everything is ok / potential for loss? Chance to hear heartbeat or too early?

I went in for my first appointment around six weeks. I could see the fetus and the heartbeat. I was completely nervous as I did not have any pregnancy symptoms but the ultrasound confirmed it. Good luck!

My family doctor looks after me till 18-20 wks then my ob

I went at 6 weeks and just did blood tests. My doctor didnt too ultrasounds until 8 weeks (so I went back then) because you can't always see anything at 6 weeks and they don't want to have unnecessary stress on momma if that happens. I was sad about it but it was nice to go back so many times early on so I could ask all my crazy questions! I then did my screenings at 11 weeks.

My doctor actually does not see patients until they are 8 weeks according to their last period. I went in and asked when I was 4 weeks. But it is up to the doctor so whatever they say/ planned is best probably :).
