Question about hemorrhoids!

I developed a hemorrhoid when I was pregnant 4 years ago and it never bothered me because it was internal. Still to this day it doesn't hurt, burn, itch or anything. I use hemorroid suppositories when it is inflamed which will last about 2 no more than 3 days. Over the last few days it has been swollen and when I felt it I noticed that it's protruding and it's been burning/ stinging, and painful when I stool. So my question is if I should see my doctor about it or try a different OTC medication. Also the only time it bleeds is during a bowel movement.
