Overdue! Time to be induced?

Question

A good friend of mine is expecting her first baby. Her due date was 8 days ago! How long do doctors usually wait til they induce labor? Or does it depend how ready the baby looks? I was just curious, im impatiently waiting for the lil one to arrive!! Lol ?

I was induced 9 days after my due date. For me l was only induced because my cervix wasn't ripening, apparently my little guy was happy in there. It was -20 C and I'm guessing he figured why go out in the cold and have to wear pants? 9 months later he still hates pants!

It depends on the baby. One of my OB profs went two weeks before her baby naturally came out. So ultimately it's moms choice unless from a medical standpoint it's unsafe for her to carry. I would advise walks, stairs, some nesting, and some bed time (wink) to help the baby along if she wants to do it naturally.

In the uk a healthy pregnany induction is offered at 12 days over due x

My doctor let me go 3 days past my due date, then induce. But it still took 2 more days after that. It all depends on mom and doctor. Good luck, hope the Lil one comes soon
