I live in the United Kingdom and on the news on Monday they are thinking of making it illegal for a pregnant woman to drink alcohol and that if she did it would be a criminal offence and she'd be arrested. This came after a 6 year old girl who has growth reduction and diagnosed with FAS (foetal alcohol syndrome) and was taken into care. The mother is looking to be charged in court. What do you all think of this? Should it be a crime to drink while pregnant? Although I disagree with alcohol consumption while pregnant, wouldn't this law just scare new mums and they'd drink in their home in secret and not get the help that they made need (alcoholism) opinions please?
