How to console him?

Ok. So i make more money than my husband. It's always been this way even before i met him i have always made more money than my s.o. well recently i have been feeling overwhelmed because i feel like all the bills and responsibilities fall on my shoulders. I said something last night about it and it wasn't degrading or anything he asked me what was wrong and i told him...well now he feels like less of a man and like he somehow is ruining my life. I keep telling him he's not. But there seems to be no consoling him. I know that he is trying to find a better job and i applaud him and praise him all the time for it. Also trying to get him to go back to school so that he can do what he really wants to do instead of all these dead end jobs. He just seems so down and idk how to help :(
