Who initiates sex more?

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 2 1/2 years. He never initiates. I am always the one who does. 
I just don't know how normal it is for a 33 yr old man to not want to have sex.

If he's like my husband, it's not that he doesn't want to have sex, it's that he's shy about initiating it. I initiate every encounter. At first I was like wut? But now that I've talked to him about it, I understand.

Me and my husband have been together for 9 years and we both always look for each other and have sex at least 4 times a week and every time it gets better so for your guy not to want sex means he probably gets it somewhere else. Sorry to say that
