Long Distance

Hey guys, I need some advice about my relationship. I'm a senior in high school, and my boyfriend is a freshman in college. We've been together for 3 years now and it's been a rocky relationship, but I have hope we'll make it. Unfortunately, next year I'm planning on attending college that's far away and since I want to get a bachelor's degree, I'm going to be away for 4 years. I'm pretty nervous about leaving. I would stay, but the college I want to attend has the best program for me and he's staying back because the college he wants to attend has the best program for him. We've tried to compromise at a college for the both of us, but we can't. I wanted to see if you guys could give me advice about having a long distance relationship. Is it hard to adjust to? Should I stay back?
