What is love ?

What does it feel like to love someone? I grew in foster care and not anyone around to say I love you or show this action! I have been with my bf almost 6 months! I know I care for him but I don't know what it's like at all to love someone! And I feel  ridiculous at 21 not being able to say it and honestly mean it! Because I don't know it is! Can have some ideas of this means?

Love is natural, you don't have to know how to love someone, love is spiritual and only God can teach you how to love. Just be yourself and allow the holy spirit work in you first. You were born with love inside of you, that's why God has wonderfully made you. Follow God's love and you will know how to love.

God is Love. When a person loves you it's unconditional. He is the one to look to for true love. When a person has experience the love of Jesus they are more capable of loving you. I'm talking true followers of Chirst.

Love is patient. Love is kind. Love doesn't take offense. Love isn't proud or boastful. 
Love is needing to see someone happy and the willingness to do whatever it takes to make that happen. Love is sitting on a porch swing watching fireflies. Love is finding happiness in each other's company. Love is making the best out of the bad times. Love is something that when it happens, you know because it is like nothing you have ever experienced with anyone else before. 
But love is also something that you can't give away until you love yourself. Not in an arrogant, self-centered way, but being happy just being you.

Love is wanting that persons needs and wants above your own- a complete selflessness washes over you that means you're happiness hinges on their happiness. That's the way God designed it- to be with someone in a way that is willing to continually give; because that's what it takes to last.

Love is a crazy emotion i dont think any of us really know what it is till we feel it, and sometimes its sneaky and we dont notice, or sometimes we think its everything and we cant live without it but its a lie, theres a lot to love and no one can tell you if u feel it or not you will just know

I think it's really biased that people are saying "only God/Only Jesus can teach you how to love", which is totally untrue! Love is subjective, and completely different for everyone. Love is a lot of things, and unquestionable once you feel it. Don't let anyone tell you the only way you'll ever find it is by reading an ancient book and praying to an invisible man in the sky. That's not true, and it's not right.
I know some of you don't "get it", but not everyone is Christian, wants to be, or has to be to feel LOVE. Stop being so one-minded.
