Is it okay to drink castor oil before deliver ?

Hi I'm 38 wks nd 4 days pregnant today. Can't wait to hold my baby in my arms now.
I went to do shopping and the shop keeper lady told me to have a bit of castor oil so the baby slips out easily, just 2 wks before my due date.
Should I or not I'm confused ???

At 36 weeks I drink castor oil mixed with orange juice and took a walk around 4pm for an hour and 30 mins. That night I had diarrhea all night and contractions. In the morning around 10 my water broke.
I did the same when pregnant with my son and nothing happened. I just didn't walk with him. 
So maybe if you walk and take the castor oil it works.
My sister also walked and took castor oil and had her baby the next day. 
diarrhea is common when taking castor oil. I know a few other people who have had their baby after taking castor oil.

That's an old wives tale, my sister tried it with her first (because my grandma told her to), didn't help labor at all, just caused diarrhea......there are other ways to "naturally" encourage labor....have sex, slightly increased physical activity (walking, dancing) etc .....but in all honesty, even though you are anxious, let the little nugget continue to cook and come out when he's ready, you will have plenty of time with him soon, use the remaining time to spend peace and quiet with your so.....oh, and if this is your first....they tend to be late....sorry :(

It worked for me, took it with my first son. Drank the whole bottle mixed with OJ around 10pm and by 1am my contractions started I did get the runs before that but it wasn't bad I just wanted him out that's why I took it. If u want to take it go ahead and try for some people doesn't work. Good luck

I heard if you eat pineapple or drink pineapple juice helps & yes sex because sex releases prostaglandins, hormone-like substances that are like the medications used to induce labor.  And it won't hurt to try! Make sure your water has not broken and your doctor or midwife has given you the green light. it's important for the man to ejaculate inside the vagina. This ejaculate contains prostaglandins which stimulate the cervix ... possibly leading to contractions.Long walks, spicy foods, Evening primrose oil
