It can hurt, but for me it was a mixture of pain and discomfort. Hearing people say to wait till you're older won't really help you but definitely use protection and consider using birth control if you aren't already. Remember, if the guy says He's too big to wear a condom or that they don't feel good, don't fall for it because those are red lights. Always make him use protection until you are emotionally and financially ready for a baby.

Sorry to be blunt but it was absolutely excruciating pain for me. And the pain was very bad for a good 6 months (at least) after I lost my virginity. I hear that this isn't normal though. I'm not exactly sure why it hurt that bad for me...but nevertheless, you're way too young. Don't have sex yet. I didn't have sex until I was 21.

I know hearing just wait will not help. To answer the direct question, it isnt excruciating pain, its uncomfortable. But please take it from a 16 and pregnant mother, protect yourself. :)

Well it hurt me, and i bled something terrible.  Not the magical moment i was hoping for.  I would suggest you wait, i know your gonna hate to hear this, you are very young.  If he really loves you he will wait, then you know you have a good guy who will stick with you.  Even if you are being careful, pregnancy is possible, you really want to make sure the guy you are with is ready for the long haul.
