Allergic to alcohol?!?

Hey!

For a while now I have been noticing that I feel extremely nauseous after drinking (even one or two drinks) doesn't matter what type but I think spirits are worse...

Does anyone else experience this or have a history of alcohol allergy?

It's very odd and I don't mind cutting the drink (approx 2-3 a fortnight at most so not much at all) I just thought I would see if there's anyone else that can shed some insight :)

I have alcohol allergies,  can't breathe after drinking some ciders.  Gave up alcohol little less than a year ago. Not prepared to end up in ER because I drank the wrong drink!

I get horrible migraines even before i go to bed. It could be 1 drink and it feels like i drank the whole bar.

I dont know if that counts as an allergy but everytime I drink alcohol im sneezing like crazy....the sneezing lasts long after im finished drinking

After I had my second child I couldn't drink either!!  I also think I'm allergic, one ounce and I violently throw up as if I've been on a 3 day bender lol.  I thought I was alone with this weirdness!!

For the kids from across the pond, what's a fortnight? I've always wondered that. And, alcohol is made from fermented grain, no? Perhaps you are allergic to the specific grains? I used to know someone who could not drink typical beer because he was allergic to hops. He could only drink wheat beer. Another guy I knew had gluten issues, so he couldn't drink beer. I would see an allergist. The other thought: are you eating before you drink? Alcohol on an empty stomach is almost sure to make anyone throw up with a sneeze, cough, or laugh.
