Depo shot.. yes or no?

I am very forgetful and am worried that by taking the pill I will forget it. I believe my best option is to get the shot but I am looking over the stories on here about how some have gained weight or still gotten pregnant even though they got the shot. What are some opinions on the shot?

I personally wouldn't, even if it didn't have so much negativity surrounding it. But that's just because I don't like subjecting my body to something that I can't just quit if I'm having awful side effects. The shot is the only method of BC (that I know of offhand) that you can't just remove/stop if your body doesn't agree with it. You're stuck riding it out.

I've had the shot for a couple months now, and I haven't had any side effects. I already got my period, it lasted about 4-5 days med to light. I cant really tell if I gained any weight because I just had my son about 2 months ago. I feel fine!

I got the shot one time and never got another and ended up bleeding for 6 months. Do you want your period for half a year? Cause it f*cking sucked lol. After that I had completely unprotected sex for 3 years without getting pregnant and now worry about what issues it may have caused.

The shot is super effective if you get it on time. I did gain quite a bit of weight while I was on it but I don't think I can completely blame that on the shot.

Nothing is 100%, and pretty much everything has some form of side effect, and the side effects vary by person
