Ultrasound wrong?

Question

Has anyone ever had the ultrasound tech tell you your having one gender and end up having the opposite? I know it's rare but can happen so I'm just wondering if any of you have experienced it?

I've heard that it's more likely for them to say you're having a girl and be wrong than the other way around. A big reason for this is that the tech predicts it's a girl simply because he/she doesn't detect a penis. Absence of a penis does not always mean it's a girl.

I haven't. But my friend was told she was having her second girl. Only when she gave birth did they find out he was a boy! Baby's grandma had to buy boy clothes on her way to see the new baby because they didn't have any. Crazy!

When my MIL was pregnant with my husband, she was told he was a girl until birth and same with his sister supposed to be a boy.
