Pre-marriage Counseling?

We are starting this month. Did any of you find it beneficial or was it just a formality? Did you not even bother? Not sure what to expect.....

Thoughts???

We did it because our pastor wouldn't marry us without it. We went begrudgingly honestly and were so nervous every time we went in thinking oh jeez what is it they're gonna find for us to argue about?! But really- it was awesome. We ended up loving it every time and it brought us so much closer. We still use the the things we learned all the time and we've even talked about taking a refresher course just to keep it going.

We did it and we learned a lot. A lot about each other and a lot that we have go e back and referenced. At the time it didn't seem like it was that important. We just wanted to be married already. But now that we are it's really useful. Since marriage our relationship has changed a lot and the things we learned have been really helpful.

We did and we thought it was great. Got some great advice that has stuck with us. Plus we got married in tx and the malaria he license is only $10 with a certificate stating you completed premarital counseling sessions.

I'm catholic so it was a requirement. It wasn't that big of a deal. Some of it was helpful and some was just something we had to do. We were in our late 20's when we got married and really knew who we were individually and had already talked a lot about what we wanted in life. We had to go to some group things and then had to take a compatibility test and talk over the answers with the priest.

My husband and I did. It helped us in many ways. You find out a lot with it and how you both would handle certain situations which was important to us. You also learn how each other would raise future family and your values. We are same religion so we went to our pastor.

My fiancé and I didn't bother. We've been living together almost 4 years already so we didn't see the point. We may have gone if we hadn't lived together before marriage though.

We did and we both loved it, catholic so it was required.  We were taught things like how to sincerely say your sorry, and how to have a healthy argument. We liked it so well we are planning on going to the one for martied couple (more as a refresher then because we need it)

We didn't, mostly because it seemed pointless to us. If you felt it would be beneficial, go for it
