How do you handle your bf/husband working out of town?

How do you deal with your boyfriend/husband working out of town?

I'm new to this, he got a job 3 months ago that requires him to possibly travel during the week, and be home weekends.  For example, for this past month, he's been gone every week. And gets back late Friday-Sunday.

It gets lonely, and I miss him. It's not like life stops during the week, and It just sucks that he's not here for some things.    I try to stay busy, and find a hobby.   But I'm not doing too well at succeeding.   When he comes back, I don't want to swarm him, or overwhelm, but all I really do want is to see him.

How does anyone else handle it?  Join a club? Yoga? Way to boast communication?

My bf works away from home 9 months of the year only coming home a total of 12 days in that time span. It sucks. I feel cheated out of a real relationship at times and the kids miss out. I try and walk when it's nice out. You can join mommy clubs,work out,hit play groups

My husband used to have to travel a whole week every month. Then, i was on 2nd shift and he was on first and worked on saturdays so we saw eachother two half days a week for 2 yrs. It sucks but u work it out/ things change. He got a new job and I fought for a 1st shift position. It's awesome now! It hopefully won't last forever you just gotta tough it out.

I have been dealing with the same thing! I work a lot to keep busy, hang out with friends, find little things to do and try to talk to him when I can. Its definitely hard but worth it!

My husband travels very often for work. Sometimes two day trips sometimes two weeks and he is generally gone twice a month. We have a toddler and it gets rough not getting a break while he's gone, but I try and plan extra special mom and son days while he's gone. It gives me something to look forward to and something to skype about later

My husband works on the road. He does pipeline work. He is gone for 2 months at a time and home for only 1 week. So he comes home every 8 weeks. It's difficult, but I've started traveling with him sometimes. 
Sometimes, we need a break from each other, and this helps our marriage.  We just make sure we talk every night when I'm not with him.

My bf is in Germany for 2 years. We haven't seen each other since June of 2014. It's not easy but when we do get time together we make it worth it. Idk how many times we've fallen asleep to each other on Skype.

I keep busy, for me it's school and work, but when I do have free time I volunteer or do little things for me that make me feel good, I'll paint my nails or do a face mask or I'll have dinner or drinks with friends. We also talk on the phone or FaceTime when we can.
