Surrogate mama...?

I'm considering becoming a surrogate mother in the near(ish) future. I've researched all the requirements, what agencies I should or should not go through, when I should do it, etc. I have all the facts, but what I need is common sense and genuine emotion about this- that's why I'm asking y'all. I know this is my decision and some of you will say, "it's your body, do what you want", but I really need to know, what pros and cons do you forsee in this endeavor? Do you honestly think it's a good idea to become a surrogate? Or a bad one?
I really need some insight here.

My biggest concern with surrogacy is minimizing the emotional attachment to the baby. Personally, I can't imagine nurturing something for so long, and going through the pain/trauma of labor and delivery then having to give up the child. 
I applaud the people that can do so, and have done so, but this is the biggest hurdle for me, which is why I wouldn't be a surrogate. But I wish you the best, whatever choice you make.

I had a friend who did it and liked it very much. She was very proud that she helped families have children who otherwise couldn't. She did say the male couples she carried for were way more laid back and easy going to work with. The heterosexual couple were crazy. Wanted her on some strange foods and vitamins and to stop using certain products. The big thing is to make sure you disassociate yourself from the fetus. It's not your child, won't ever be your child and doesn't belong to you. Also make sure you put in contract to get paid for the amount of time you are pregnant and not paid by month. If you would have a miscarriage and are paid by month you might not get compensated. Request a life insurance policy paid by the surrogate parents for you. My friend pumped breast milk for her last surrogate for 12 months and the dad's paid to have it shipped fed ex overnight because they wanted that for their daughter. They still send her pictures of the surrogate child too.

If you can do it, do it! If love to be a surrogate but I would get way too attached to baby and not want to give the baby up.

I would definitely do it. You would be helping out a couple that might not be able to have children otherwise and you get paid to do it right? The only con I can think of is there's always that risk you get attached to the child and you have to give it up. But, you could also gain a second family in doing so. You'll never know something until you try. I think it is a great idea.

I wish I could surrogate but even though I know I don't want my own children no doctor would allow me to (that and im also 20) but I have an aunt and uncle who have been trying for a long time to be parents and every time she gets pregnant she miscarries and they would honestly be the best parents ever and they deserve to be parents but no doctor would allow me to be a surrogate -.-

It's less about 'your body, your choice', and more.. can you mentally and emotionally go through this process and end on a healthy note? Personally, knowing me, it would be easy for me. The thought of doing that for someone else brings me joy, and I do not fear letting go at the end.

Yea if you think you can handle it do it! My biggest fear is bonding with that baby and then just handing it off, I think that would be devastating,  your dna or not.
