Late term measurement being correct?

Question

37.4 weeks and yesterday out of the blue doctor mentioned she was concerned about baby girl possible being over 10lbs. Scheduled an US for next week to check measurements. Says if she is as big as she thinks she is they will want to schedule a CS. I will be going over other options with my doctor as I've only had a net gain of about 20lbs. This is not the plan I had for my birth but at the same time I just want to have a safe and heathy baby.  So my question is how many people had a late term US for sizing and the doctor was actually correct about the size? Feel free to comment about your experience but no need for negative comments or bashing anyone's decision. For reference I consider normal anything between 6-9lbs

Don't let them pressure u into a section because of an US. The measurements can b off by 2 lbs! U can always say u wanna try to do it vaginally and if u don't feel like it's gonna work change ur mind. I was forced into a section with my first (due to size and him being late) and now with my second it has been so hard to get them to let me just go into labor naturally. Remember your body was made to birth the baby u are carrying. Don't let ur doc tell u a lie about that.

My sister measured big and her son was 10lbs 2oz and she had a pretty normal birth..... She did have and epidural though. Good luck! And stick by what you want as long as it's safe for you and baby!

They told me my son was 7.5 lbs.. Two days later I birthed a 9 lb 10 oz baby. They never can tell on an ultrasound. For the record, it can be done. Trust your body.

At 37 weeks exactly they said my baby was 7lbs 13oz I had him 2 weeks 2 days later and he was 8lbs 8oz so it was pretty close for me

They said my baby girl was going to be 10lb 3oz at 34w when she was born (March 1st 2010) she was only 3lb 10oz! She was 6 weeks premature too :(

My baby measured 9lbs 13 ounces and a week later he arrived at 10lbs 5 ounces.

My sister had gestational diabetes and they said her baby was measuring 9.5lbs and they told her she needed a c-section a week early. Baby came out at 8lbs5oz. Totally normal and the doctors were over a pound off.

My son was estimated to be 7 pounds but he was 8 pounds 10 oz, so the ultrasound was off by a little over 1 pound.
